Meet Our Dedicated Virginia Beach Lawyer
Our Virginia Beach criminal defense attorney, Dan Miller, grew up in the
Chesapeake area of Virginia. He attended Norfolk Collegiate School, graduating
in 1985. In 1987, he earned his Associate's degree from Oxford College,
majoring in sociology and philosophy. Later in 1989, he graduated with
a Bachelor's degree in sociology and philosophy from Emory University.
From 1989 through 1995, our attorney was the drummer in an Atlanta-based
band, which went on tour throughout the southeast. In 1997, he went to
Thomas Cooley Law School, where he had an early graduation and earned
an admission to the Virginia Bar in November of 1998.
Shortly after this, Dan began his career by working at Michael I. Ashe,
P.C., where he focused on criminal law and traffic violations. Dan is
active in many associations, including the Virginia State Bar, the Norfolk/Portsmouth
Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers,
the Virginia Trial Lawyers, the American Bar Association, and the Virginia
Beach Bar Association. Dan has been selected for inclusion into several
professional legal organizations, including the Top 100 Trial Lawyers
for Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2015.
Virginia Beach defense attorney, Dan Miller, has a license to practice law in all Virginia courts, both
federal and state. Dan started his own firm, Dan Miller & Associates,
in 2001. He and his wife, Amy, make their home in Virginia Beach with
their son and daughter, Max and Hayden.

Attorney James A. Weaver
Dedicated Virginia Beach Lawyer
James Weaver grew up in the Shenandoah Valley in western Virginia. He attended
James Madison University, graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in
Philosophy and Religion with a minor in French. Prior to entering law
school, James completed an internship with a Congressman in the United
States House of Representatives. James entered law school at George Mason
University School of Law, now known as the Antonin Scalia Law School, in 2010.
While in law school James completed an internship at InSight Law, a Trusts
and Estates law firm, and Legal Services of Northern Virginia in Fairfax,
where he worked with indigent clients in family law and landlord/tenant
law. James worked as a law clerk with The Peterson Companies, a real-estate
development company in Northern Virginia for two years where he primarily
handled commercial real estate work. James also completed a judicial internship
with the Honorable Judge Rossie D. Alston, Jr. at the Court of Appeals
of Virginia, where James worked on criminal and family law appeals. James
graduated law school in 2013 and earned admission to the Virginia State
Bar later that year.
Upon admission to the Virginia State Bar he opened his own general practice
law firm which he led for nearly two years before moving to Virginia Beach.
James has been an Associate Attorney with The Law Offices of Daniel J.
Miller, PC since April 2016, where he focuses his practice on Family Law.
James is admitted to practice in all Virginia State courts. James is active
in the Virginia State Bar Associate and the Virginia Beach Bar Association.
