Calling Virginia Beach home since the age of four, Krista M. Sheets grew up in a military family. She graduated valedictorian from Landstown High School and Technology Academy and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and master’s degree in Exercise Science, both from Old Dominion University.
Before embarking on her legal career, Krista taught high school mathematics at both Renaissance Academy and Cape Henry Collegiate. She also served honorably in the United States Navy and graduated from the Virginia Beach Police Department’s Law Enforcement Training Academy.
In 2017, Krista graduated from Regent University School of Law and began her client-centered advocacy with the Suffolk Public Defender’s Office followed by the Virginia Beach Public Defender’s Office. Krista’s focus areas are Family Law and Criminal Defense.
In her spare time, Krista enjoys all things fitness and adventure: traveling, running the trails of First Landing State Park, soaking up sun with her two tireless mini-Australian Shepherd puppies, and more!
